On April 18, the 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition 2023, themed "Embracing a New Era in the Automotive Industry," officially opened. Major automakers unveiled a number of cutting-edge, highly competitive high-end new-energy vehicles, among which the domestically produced supercar equipped with KBCC's carbon-ceramic brake disc series stood out remarkably.
GAC Aion's luxury car brand, Hyper SSR, made its debut at the booth. The Hyper SSR boasts a 0-to-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of just 1.9 seconds and is equipped with carbon-ceramic brake discs. Mass production and delivery are set to begin in October 2023.

BYD's million-dollar all-electric supercar, the Yangwang U9, made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show with a striking new design. The vehicle features the Yisifang platform technology and the Yunniang-X body control system, equipped with carbon-ceramic brake discs.

Just before the auto show, on April 12, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited GAC Aion in Guangzhou, toured the company’s new-energy vehicle production line, inquired about the luxury Hyper SSR model, and learned about the application of high-performance carbon-ceramic brake discs in next-generation electric vehicles.
